Rural Regeneration funding announced for Ballinamore

Ballinamore has been granted €2.3million for the Junction Project at the old St Felim’s College. Two listed buildings will be regenerated and restored. The large space will provide a digital hub and co-working space; an artistic space for promotion of local arts and crafts along with a youth facility. It is hoped the space will create jobs and help develop local businesses and local community groups. The project will preserve and capitalise on local heritage assets and address the need for more social activities and facilities for people in the area.

This will transform the town centre, converting the old station buildings into a lively place bringing together a co-working digital hub, arts school and young people to foster jobs and provide for new skills and creative activities.

Congratulations to the Local community, Ballinamore Area Community Council Ltd, Ballinamore Area Steering group and Leitrim County Council who over the last two years have worked hard and developed the ideas and vision for this project .Exciting times ahead.
