Capacity Building and Social Enterprise Programme – to further relationships built
up during our first PIP Project. The committee has evolved and continues to develop
incorporating a strategic plan as part of the groups development strategy.
We are keen to explore difference and increase our knowledge and understanding through
cross border exchanges to cross community organisations.
The committee will explore relationships and networking and best practice visits to similar community-based
organisations north of the border and we particularly welcome the opportunity to engage
with organisations based in protestant communities. This new development will explore
differences and increase knowledge and understanding, through exchanges with cross
border groups and statutory agencies including Fermanagh Omagh District Council and
Leitrim County Council. Networking visits and cultural awareness visits to build positive
relations both north and south of the border will be planned.
Social Enterprise training and development will continue to increase skill set for committee
members and the wider community through the programmes specifically related to
expanding social enterprise in the area. There will be facilitated workshops and capacity
training for the local Community Volunteers and Committee Good practice visits to similar
communities.
As BACC Clg is a Social Enterprise, many initiatives could be built around slow tourism,
cycling, walking, boating which can all have a cross border element. Building on existing
infrastructure and engaging in joint marketing initiatives. The collaboration between BACC
Clg and Leitrim County Council in securing funding to renovate and bring back to life the
old Railway Station into a modern Digital Hub, Arts School and Youth Facilities continues.
When restored, BACC Ltd hope to add these facilities to be run as part of our Social
Enterprise.
