Skills and personal development training which will deal with a skills deficit and create opportunities for Enterprise Development in this rural border community of Ballinamore.
The Project will carry out further needs analysis to establish training needs that can contribute to the local border economy. The courses identified will be used to build skills, and new skills can lead to private entrepreneurship or employment opportunities.
Programme
The Project will carry out a further needs analysis to establish training needs that can contribute to the local border economy. The courses identified will be used to build skills, and new skills can lead to private entrepreneurship or employment opportunities. Courses such as Safe Pass; Manual Handling; Driver Theory Tests; Driving Lessons; Computer Skills; Payroll; Accounting Packages; Energy Efficiency Compliance; Advertising and Social Media Training will be delivered.
Objectives
Given the fear of Brexit it is important that such opportunities can provide hope, to underpin the Peace Process and promote economic prosperity by increasing the skills base within both communities’ north and south of the border. Additional supports will be given through Brexit workshops on what is required to trade cross border.
Aim
To Build on positive relations already built up during first Peace Impact Project, we are in negotiations with the Good Relations officers in Fermanagh Omagh District Council, (FODC) who have agreed to assist with advertising and collecting data. FODC Good Relations department are anxious to work collaboratively with us going forward, looking to move beyond the next two years, when funding has run out.
We have also made contact with Cavan and Leitrim Enterprise Offices, Leitrim Development Company and Mayo/ Sligo/ Leitrim Education & Training Board who are all more than willing to assist us to achieve our aims.
