In April our Cross Border / Cross Community Schools Project got off to a great start with Michael, our Project Manager, visiting Ballinamore Community School. Chatting to the TY students about their feelings, peace and how environmental aspects can affect Peace, such as poverty, hunger and unemployment. In May, the TY students went with Michael to Cavan County Museum for a creative writing workshop with Heather Brett. Heather will also be visiting, The Erne Royal Grammar School, Enniskillen to deliver a creative writing workshop whilst exploring students feelings around peace and reconciliation. |
The Schools will then meet in the new school year and work with each other throughout the Peace Impact Programme. Students will spend time exploring peace and coming together as one. Building friendships and strengthening bonds between school communities. We are looking forward to seeing and hearing about their adventures! |

Our writers programme was a success for our last PIP. With the BMore Hen’s Shed and Fermanagh Writers engaging in a Cross Community Writers Programme. This new project, involves four libraries Leitrim, Cavan, |
Fermanagh and Omagh, facilitating reading groups, with guest authors/ speakers. The groups at each session will explore the works being read and discuss conflict, peace & reconciliation in the Border areas. Meetings between the groups will |
give the opportunity to engage with the guest author and get to know one another, form friendships and share their insights gained in taking part in this PIP. Look out for announcements from ourselves and your local library. |
